Max Noah Singers
MNS is a choral organization made up of select singers with an emphasis on the study and performance of a variety of literature from madrigals and motets to the avant garde. MNS is open by audition to all members of the university community. MNS has performed a number of premieres of commissioned works by such composers as Douglas O’Grady, John Hennecken, David Hamilton, and Cannon McClain. In addition to participating in the mostly classically based concerts with UC and WE, MNS also presents concerts with popular solo and ensemble music in a themed atmosphere, such as the annual Valentine’s Day Rendezvous. MNS takes a performance, recruiting, and outreach tour each year; past destinations include Nashville, TN; Charlotte, NC; Cincinnati and Columbus, OH; Orlando, FL (Walt Disney World); Washington, D.C.; New York City, NY; Budapest, Hungary, and Vienna, Austria; and throughout the state of Georgia. Max Noah Singers will be joining other choirs at Carnegie Hall in May 2018 under the direction of Dr. Flory. See below for more information.
Four to eight members of MNS also represent Georgia College at the annual GMEA All-College Chorus. MNS rehearses three times a week, Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 12-12:50 p.m., in Porter 304. Please contact Dr. Jennifer Flory ([email protected]) for more information.
